Shri M.N. Kampani Arts and Shri A.K. Shah Commerce College, Mangrol was established in the year 1988. It was first known as Shree Shardagram Arts and Commerce College. The name of the college was changed on 04-04-2006
by Saurashtra University and we have applied to the UGC for the change of name but the notification has not yet been issued. It is affiliated to Saurashtra University and has been listed under 2(F) & 12(B) of the UGC Act,1956.
The college started with 186 students. Today the college is providing higher education to more than 1100 students in and around Mangrol town. The college offers U.G. as well as P.G. level courses in the faculties of arts and commerce.
It is a co-education college located on the campus of 4 acres in urban setting and rural area. Moreover, the other colleges like B.R.S.and B.Ed. are also located in the same campus. More than 80 percent students of the college belong to weaker section of the society.
The focus of the institute is to empower the rural youths through quality education. The college has been imparting higher education to the youths of this rural region for more than one and a half decade. It has always maintained high standards and strived to achieve excellence in higher education. The institution has definitely achieved its primary objectives and goals.
However, we continue our efforts to make this college an ideal institution of higher education. We are aware of our shortcomings and limitations. Nevertheless, there is a tremendous potential for further improvement and progression.
In the era of quality performance, one has to constantly improve one’s performance to progress. The honest appraisals through the exercise of assessment and accreditation would certainly help us in finding the actual status of our college and also provide us suggestions for the further improvement
This introspection will also help us to know if our endeavours are fulfilling personal, societal & national needs of stakeholders or not.
The institute is thankful to the dedicated and devoted college family for its kind and constant co-operation in the exercise of quality assurance. The co-operation and commitment of each and every member of college will definitely take college to the greater heights of excellence in higher education.
